The architect of Hora Time Management System is Mr. Ranga Chary. He was introduced to scientific Astrology about six decades ago. A financial strategies and solutions specialist by trade, he treated planetary horas as a research subject and a hobby. It was a personal passion of his and he remained an amateur, never charging a fee for his work.

His focus was the scientific aspects of Astrology, in timing the events. He was very reluctant to deal with the predictive side as he was very skeptical about the basis and adequacy of the data and training available for making predictions. Mr. Chary felt that it was a dual-edged sword, at best. Since many people make major decisions in their lives because of their faith in their advisors, he believed that it would be irresponsible to take predictive Astrology lightly. Mr. Chary therefore practiced utmost restraint when he was urged to predict.

Is Astrology a Science?

Mr. Chary has addressed several Rotary clubs and various group get-togethers on “The scientific aspects of Astrology”. He has advised several people from all walks of life over all these years, always staying within boundaries and being aware of the limitations imposed by the subject.

His meetings were well attended because of his creative, informative and responsible approach to this vast subject. It has been a controversy for a long time whether Astrology is a science or not. It is an individual opinion. We do not believe that this issue is going to be resolved as long as the sun rises in the east!

Chart integrating Eastern and Western Astrology

In 1973, Mr. Chary designed a unique chart incorporating eastern and western astrological systems and spoke at a number of forums explaining the features of the chart and comparing eastern and western systems. He was also a member in good standing with the National Geo Cosmic Research council, New York. Several scholars from all over the world were members of this council. They met frequently to exchange ideas, information and knowledge. The council has always had a number of brilliant minds.

Planetary Hours (Hours) and Ashtaka Varga (Sanskrit word)

There are two specific and brilliant areas Mr.Chary was attracted to and devoted a lot of his time in their research. They are Planetary Horas (hours) and Ashtaka Varga (Sanskrit word) dealing with the mathematical strength of a horoscope. He found these two applied areas to be extremely valuable in offering tremendous help in our daily lives and timing the events.

The focus of this site at this point is Time Management with Daily Planetary Horas (Hours). Planetary Horas (Hours) have so much to offer, it needs to be a stand-alone project for better results and to maintain its integrity. Ashtaka varga is a fascinating and exciting mathematical masterpiece of Astrology. For the benefit of our subscribers, we will address this subject in detail around the fall of 2008 and in future releases and updates. One has to experience both systems to know their value.

Evolution of Hora Time Management System

Planetary hours based time management system was introduced by Mr. Chary as early as 1960. It was hand calculated for a small number of cities in India, using sunrise/sunset data for each day, for a small number of users. On going feed back was very encouraging.

Challenge of getting Sunrise/Sunset times for major cities of the world

Making efficient time management system based on planetary horas available for the benefit of every user in every major city in the world has been in the works since 1960. Resolving getting accurate sunrise/set times for the major cities in the world and automating the system without the users having to resort to strenuous manual calculations remained a challenge until recently. In 1960 no one dreamt of internet technology, PCs and sophisticated software.

VIBGYOR, predecessor to Hora Time Management System

It is fair to say that Mr. Chary has been pioneering this work for decades. Around 1977 he hand calculated the daily horas for NY City and a few other US Cities and gave them to a few life insurance sales professionals and stock brokers who make telephone cold and warm calls to locate their prospects, sell and make a living. The validity of the hora system was tested. As expected, results were amazing and very encouraging. Test results suggested that daily Planetary Horas (hours) should work well if properly and consistently used.

Mr. Chary attempted to make the system globally available. VIBGYOR planetary horas (hours) time management system was born in 1977. It is our belief that Mr. Chary was the first in the world to attempt in the seventies to make the planetary hora system commercially and globally available. A sample brochure printed in 1977 is provided for reference. The project was confined to a few cities and the data had to be hand calculated. In the meanwhile testing has been going on in selective cities using manual calculations. Third attempt was made in 1984 and given up. 1984 version sample brochure is also provided.

Hora Time Management System

Finally HORA TIME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM was born. Thanks to the computer age, software and the miracle of internet power and technology, the efforts to provide time management system using planetary horas (hours) to every user in every major city in the world is finally becoming a reality. Sunrise/Sunset times and the automation is no more a challenge and it is behind. A few clicks on the key board in Hora Time Management’s website will bring the world to the user’s desk. Getting feed backs and fine tuning the Hora Time Management System with planetary horas (hours) and make it highly efficient is a reality now.

To the best of our knowledge there were no services offering planetary horas (hours) in the seventies and eighties, at least not on the web. What has been and still is unique about this site’s time management system with planetary hours is that this is still first and only service to offer the system in a daily diary format. To a lot of people this made perfect sense. Tremendous value was found in using a daily diary format.

It is appropriate to mention here that Mr. Chary’s research work in this area was well appreciated even way back in the sixties by illustrious scholars such as Dr. Alex Wayman, then professor and head of the department of Sanskrit, Columbia University, NY, USA and Dr. Joseph Elder from Wisconsin University, Madison, USA who spent time with himin the sixties . Since then forty plus years of additional research have gone in what he did.
